Responsibilities
- Assist in measuring, cutting, and fitting various types of windows according to project specifications
- Support the installation process by preparing work sites and handling materials safely and efficiently
- Use hand tools and power tools to carry out tasks such as cutting, shaping, and fixing window frames
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times during installation activities
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including proper storage of tools and materials
- Learn to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and installation instructions
Requirements
- A keen interest in construction trades, particularly window fitting
- Basic knowledge or experience with hand tools and power tools is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work safely at heights and in confined spaces when required
- Physical fitness suitable for manual labour tasks involved in installation work
- Willingness to undertake training in window fitting or fabrication if needed during the apprenticeship programme
- A positive attitude towards learning new skills and working as part of a team
- Most importantly having a cscs card green colour
