Experienced Mate / Apprentice – EV Charging Installations
Based within commutable distance of Cheltenham
Full-Time | Permanent
About PowerPro EV Ltd
PowerPro EV Ltd is a specialist EV charging installation company delivering projects across the UK for commercial, public sector, and hospitality clients. As demand grows, we are looking for motivated individuals who want to build a long-term career in the fast-growing EV sector.
The Role
This is a hands-on site role supporting the installation of EV charging infrastructure, working alongside a qualified electrician, as well as carrying out associated civils and groundwork.
You will be involved in:
- Assisting with EV charger installations and electrical works
- Learning on the job while working closely with experienced installers
- Outdoor site work in all weather conditions
- Civils and enabling works including:
- Digging cable trenches (typically up to 5m)
- Installing EV charger bases and ductwork
- Fitting sign posts and protective barriers
- Working on commercial and public-sector sites across the UK
- Maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism
Full training will be provided, particularly in EV charging systems and installation standards.
As you develop and become competent in the installation and maintenance of EV chargers, you will be trusted with more responsibility. This will include carrying out small maintenance and service tasks, and a company van will be provided at that stage.

This role is ideal for a well-experienced mate or apprentice who:
- Has at least 1 year of on-site electrical experience
- Is actively working towards becoming a fully qualified electrician
- Has a genuine interest in the electrical and EV charging sector
- Wants a role where they can progress their career within a growing company
- Is practical, hands-on, and not afraid of physical work
We are looking for someone who wants more than just a job — we want someone keen to grow with the business.
What We’re Looking For
- Ability to work on your own initiative
- Proactive, organised, and reliable
- Positive, hard-working, and keen to learn
- Interested in gaining further training and relevant electrical qualifications
- Happy to get involved in all aspects of site work
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Hours, Travel & Location
- Normal working week based on 40 hours, Monday to Friday
- Due to the nature of site work, weekly hours may vary depending on workload
- Overtime is payable on any hours worked in excess of 40 per week. For example, working four 12-hour days (8am–8pm) would result in 8 hours being paid at the overtime rate. If a fifth day is worked after the 40-hour total has already been reached, this may either be paid as overtime or taken as time off in lieu, as the standard weekly hours will already have been fulfilled.
- Nationwide travel required, including occasional working away
Travel to site will be provided from our Cheltenham meeting point. You will be required to make your own way to Cheltenham at the start of the working day.
We understand the importance of family time and always aim to keep working away to a minimum where possible.
