Job Title: Apprentice Carpenter
Job Summary:
Position: Full-time | In Person
We are seeking a motivated and eager Apprentice Carpenter to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to begin a career in carpentry and gain hands-on experience in the residential remodeling industry. The Apprentice Carpenter will work under the supervision of experienced carpenters and learn various carpentry skills through on-the-job training.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A strong interest in carpentry and construction.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and carrying heavy materials.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Basic math skills.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in construction or related fields.
- Enrollment in or completion of a pre-apprenticeship program or vocational training.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (50 lbs or more).
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
Responsibilities:
Learning and Assisting:
- Assist journeyman and lead carpenters with various tasks, including framing, finish carpentry, trim work, demolition, and site preparation.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Develop proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Follow instructions and ask questions to gain a thorough understanding of carpentry techniques.
Site Preparation and Cleanup:
- Prepare job sites for construction activities, including setting up tools and materials, and ensuring a safe work environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work site throughout the project.
- Clean up job sites after work is completed.
Material Handling and Organization:
- Load and unload construction materials.
- Organize and store materials properly.
- Transport materials to and from job sites as needed.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and OSHA standards.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors immediately.
Tool and Equipment Maintenance:
- Assist in maintaining and cleaning tools and equipment.
- Report any damaged or malfunctioning tools to supervisors.
