We are seeking a motivated and eager Apprentice Carpenter to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to begin a career in carpentry and gain hands-on experience in the residential remodeling industry. The Apprentice Carpenter will work under the supervision of experienced carpenters and learn various carpentry skills through on-the-job training.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
A strong interest in carpentry and construction.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and carrying heavy materials.
Willingness to learn and take direction.
Reliable and punctual.
Basic math skills.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in construction or related fields.
Enrollment in or completion of a pre-apprenticeship program or vocational training.
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (50 lbs or more).
Ability to work in various weather conditions.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
Responsibilities:
Learning and Assisting:
Assist journeyman and lead carpenters with various tasks, including framing, finish carpentry, trim work, demolition, and site preparation.
Learn to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Develop proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Follow instructions and ask questions to gain a thorough understanding of carpentry techniques.
Site Preparation and Cleanup:
Prepare job sites for construction activities, including setting up tools and materials, and ensuring a safe work environment.
Maintain a clean and organized work site throughout the project.
Clean up job sites after work is completed.
Material Handling and Organization:
Load and unload construction materials.
Organize and store materials properly.
Transport materials to and from job sites as needed.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety regulations and OSHA standards.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Report any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors immediately.
Tool and Equipment Maintenance:
Assist in maintaining and cleaning tools and equipment.
Report any damaged or malfunctioning tools to supervisors.
