The Role
Tameside is one of the ten local authorities that make up Greater Manchester, nestling between the vibrancy of Manchester City Centre and the tranquillity of the Peak District which is on our doorstep. Services are supported via a business partnering approach providing financial advice and expertise throughout the whole organisation. You will play a crucial role in building transformed and financially sustainable cutting edge services that will serve residents and help improve health outcomes as part of our wider integrated Care Together programme.
This role will provide essential support to the Financial Management service and will deliver a number of key tasks including:
- Supporting monthly service directorate budget monitoring including payroll and service demand contracts.
- Reconciling financial management system accounts together with the creation and maintenance of supporting documents
- Supporting the financial and performance monitoring of cost savings, cost avoidance and invest to save initiatives
- Supporting service directorate s with medium and long term financial planning
- Supporting the final accounts process

The Council will also provide support to gain the Association of Accounting Technicians Qualification at levels 3 and 4.
