We have an exciting opportunity in Salford Children’s Service to help you train to be a social worker in a variety of different settings. We will provide you with work experience as you gain a Pg Dip in Social Work from Manchester Metropolitan University.
We are looking for people who are resilient, knowledgeable, relational and compassionate. You will need to be able to balance the academic side of the course with working within busy teams. If you want to work with children and families, this could be what you have been waiting for. We are looking for candidates from all backgrounds and abilities.
What we need from you:
- You will need Grade C or above in Maths and English or functional skills numeracy and literacy. Applicants must also have an existing degree in any subject at at least a 2.2 (certificates need to be provided)
- You will have 12 months minimum experience of working (paid or voluntary) with children and young people.
- Consent to a DBS check.
- Although we may accept degree’s from other countries, for this vacancy, we will not accept candidates who require sponsorship to work in the UK

- Candidates shortlisted will be invited to an Assessment session 16th December
- Candidates invited to interview will be requested to attend an online written assessment with the university on 8th January 2025.
- Interviews will be held on 10th January 2025.
