Job Description & Program Overview
Starting in March 2025, we are currently looking for a motivated Apprentice to join our Global Information Security (GIS) team in Chester in a full-time role whilst studying the Cyber Security pathway of the Level 6 Digital and Technology Solutions degree apprenticeship.

As an apprentice, you will join one of our teams in GIS EMEA. Key tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Building an understanding of the Banks security policy, standards, and requirements
- Develop a strong understanding of established processes and guidelines to handle common issues
- Accurate documentation, record-keeping, analysis and response to incoming information security inquiries or issues
- Monitor assigned queues and work cases in an efficient and effective manner
- Collaborate with team members to resolve more complex problems and/or escalate as necessary
- Adapt to change and learning of new technology/processes
- Supporting technical and non-technical colleagues performing specialised GIS functions to drive operational efficiencies.
- Partnering and developing key relationships with stakeholders across the team and outside of the team
Essential and desired competencies
As the successful applicant, you will be able to:
- Show demonstrable evidence of self-learning outside of studies, and efforts to advance technical skills.
- Display clear motivation for exploring a Technology career within financial services, and a specific interest in Information Security
- Demonstrate capacity for innovative thinking and strong problem solving.
- Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to interact with a variety of people.
- Display evidence of strong teamwork and leadership
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
- Demonstrate integrity and ethics by earning other’s trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions.
- Will be advantageous if there is demonstrable coding experience in an object-oriented programming language.
Eligibility requirements
- Expected BBC at A Levels or equivalent
- A minimum of grade C or 5 in Maths and English Language GCSE (4 will not be accepted) or equivalent.
- Been a resident of the UK for the past 3 years
- Not in full-time education when starting the apprenticeship
- Have the right to work and remain in the UK indefinitely
- Have not completed a qualification or apprenticeship at the same level or higher which provided you with substantially the same skills or training as you would gain through this apprenticeship with Bank of America
