The Highway Maintenance team at Market Weighton are seeking an apprentice to work within the frontline Highways operational team, for 37 hours per week. With a basic pay for the successful candidate of £23,114 (grade 2b) per annum for those over the age of 21, should you be under the age of 21 the basic pay would be 70% of this amount, £16,179 per annum.
The qualification offered as part of the apprenticeship, is aimed at those who do not have a full working knowledge of the role and who will, under supervision work as part of a team learning on the job. You will undertake operations associated with the maintenance and construction of roads/footpaths, bridges, winter maintenance, surface dressing, paving and drainage improvement schemes.

You will need to hold GCSEs in English and Mathematics (at a minimum, of level 4 or equivalent). This is a structured training role and day release to college will be required (Doncaster College, Stainforth Site) for which transport can be arranged. With the apprenticeship course lasting for a 2-year period.
