Apprentice Estate Worker (Level 2 Horticulture Apprenticeship)
Are you passionate about working outdoors and eager to learn how to manage and maintain beautiful natural spaces? Epping Forest is looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Estate Worker to join our team, supporting the upkeep of the Forest and its surrounding lands.
As an apprentice, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience in tasks such as grounds maintenance, vegetation control, path repairs, and supporting public events. You’ll also learn to operate machinery, assist with inspections, and develop vital skills in health and safety practices.
This role offers the opportunity to earn a Level 2 Horticulture Apprenticeship, combining practical work with formal training. Your apprenticeship will last for 30 months, and you will spend one day per week and block release at college in training towards a Level 2 qualification.
You’ll be part of a supportive team, working in a unique natural environment, while developing the skills needed for a career in estate management.

This apprenticeship role is based at Epping Forest and will last for 30 months (including time to complete your End Point Assessment).
Working hours 7:00am -3:00pm with 45 min unpaid lunch – Monday - Friday
If you are enthusiastic and committed to achieving your Horticulture level 2 apprenticeship qualification and are eligible to apply, we would love to hear from you.
To qualify for this apprenticeship, you will need to be:
- 16 or over by the end of the summer holidays
- Living in England
- Not in full-time education at the time of applying
If you are a non-UK citizen – you need to have permission from the UK government to live in
the UK (not for educational purposes) and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least the previous three years before the start of the apprenticeship.
Selected apprenticeships require evidence of English and Maths GCSE Grade C/5 or equivalent.

Prior learning: If you have prior learning e.g., a similar or higher level of qualification like the apprenticeship we will be unable to consider your application as your prior learning will not meet the funding rule criteria.
