Our IT & Digital (IT&D) Department plays a significant role in supporting Manchester Metropolitan University's mission to provide excellent service and tech solutions for both, students & staff, across the university. The Digital Skills Team within IT&D provides training solutions and accessible support for systems and software.
We have worked successfully with degree apprentices for over 6 years and have produced successful graduates who have performed strongly on their course.
We are now recruiting for our next apprentice for 2024!
The Digital Skills Apprentice within the Digital Skills Team will work with the team to create training resources and assist in the delivery of training workshops. You will contribute to the design, development and testing of training resources for software applications and other systems that we use at Manchester Met. This is your opportunity to collaborate with the department and stakeholders in delivery of high-quality services to enhance the skills of university staff to become proficient in the use of systems and software required in their job roles/studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend and complete the degree apprenticeship course and modules to assist with the work-based elements of the course.
- Support with the design, development, testing and delivery of training solutions
- Collaborate with the team to support systems and processes and deliver high quality training solutions to address business need and service requests, working with the wider digital skills team.
- Support in the completion of Learning Needs Analysis
- Support in the delivery of training workshops, both online, and face to face
- Support in the evaluation and ongoing maintenance of training materials
- Support in the evaluating the effectiveness of training solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Key Requirements
- Written and oral communication skills are essential, as is the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Working with and collaborating with a team and key stakeholders.
- Good organisational skills and a customer focussed approach to work is essential to the role.
- Presentation experience of being comfortable in a public speaking environment is desirable.
