Job Title: Business Administration Apprentice - Complaints Team
Salary: National Minimum Wage For Age
Grade: Apprentice
Contract Type: Apprentice Contract (21 months)
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Training Provider: South Essex College
Job Purpose
To actively engage with your training provider and undertake all tasks in relation to your apprenticeship studies and successfully complete your apprenticeship. Attend and participate in the mandatory monthly Apprentice Forums or Grangewaters Apprenticeship Days. Volunteer and participate in activities that promote apprenticeships at Thurrock Council. To participate in any other apprenticeship specific tasks if requested.
For apprenticeships at level 2, you must achieve Functional Skills level 1 in Maths and English (GCSE grades 1 to 3) if they are not already held. If Functional Skills level 1 or GCSE grades 1 to 3 are already held, you must study towards Functional Skills level 2 in Maths and English (GCSE grades 4 to 9).
For apprenticeships at level 3 and above, you must achieve Function Skills level 2 in Maths and English (GCSE grades 4 to 9) if they are not already held.
Apprenticeship study will be undertaken within normal working hours. Time will be allocated to attend training and complete assignments, workbooks, online training etc. as required by the qualification.
About the Role
As a Complaints Team Apprentice, you will be responsible for:
- Logging complaints, compliments, MP and Councillor enquiries on behalf of the Council, ensuring these are assigned to the correct service and allocated to the wider team for action
- To ensure that any tasks associated with complaints are managed in line with procedure
- To take responsibility for the management of all incoming and outgoing post for the team
- To provide administrative support to the team
- To attend team meetings and represent the Council at any other meetings as and when necessary
- To set up meetings and managed room bookings as and when required
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Excellent Communication Skills
- An understanding of the use of IT, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to plan and prioritise own workload
- Ability to support the team in developing practices and processes
- Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
