Power & Control are a forward-thinking electrical contractor specialising in commercial electrical installations, renewable energy, and EV charging. We carry out minimal domestic electrical work, focusing instead on commercial installations with domestic solar, battery storage, and EV charging only where required.
Approximately 90% of our work is completed within a 30-mile radius of our office, meaning limited long-distance travel and a strong local focus.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a qualified Approved Electrician to join our expanding team.
The Role
This is a predominantly installation-based role working across a wide range of commercial and specialist projects, including:
- Commercial & industrial electrical installations
- Commercial solar & battery installations
- Domestic solar & battery installations
- Commercial EV charging installations
- Domestic EV charging installations
- Full electrical fit-outs to substations and warehouses
- Bespoke large new-build projects
- Flood defence electrical works
- Shopfitting projects
Domestic electrical work is kept to an absolute minimum.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Approved Electrician status preferred
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- 2391 Testing & Inspection
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a qualified electrician
- ECS / JIB card
- Full UK driving licence
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable (Training Can Be Provided)
- Solar PV installation experience
- Battery storage systems
- EV charging installations (domestic and/or commercial)

Pay, Hours & Overtime
- Salary: £41,766 – £47,216 per annum (based on a basic 40-hour working week)
- Overtime available and paid at:
- 1.5x rate for all on-site hours
- 1x rate for travel time
Company Vehicle & Equipment
- Company van provided (maximum 3 years old)
- Fully racked with tool safes
- Tablet provided for digital job management
Expectations:
- Vans to be cleaned weekly
- Stock to be checked and managed electronically
- Vehicle checks completed digitally

The successful candidate must be able and willing to:
- Complete timesheets electronically
- Complete vehicle checklists electronically
- Complete stock checks electronically
- Use mobile apps to commission:
- Solar inverters

- Adapt to new technologies as the industry evolves
Full training is provided where required.
