Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of CCTV systems, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and other security hardware.
- Support the setup and configuration of computer networking and telecommunication equipment.
- Use hand tools and power tools to aid in the assembly and repair of security infrastructure.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and system design documents.
- Contribute to electrical wiring tasks, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Participate in site inspections to identify potential security vulnerabilities or system faults.
- Support the testing and troubleshooting of security systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on construction projects involving security installations.
- Assist in documenting system configurations and updates for future reference.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, networking, and telecommunication principles.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with construction or installation work is advantageous.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems, IDS, schematics, and system design concepts is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and general electrical work is beneficial.
- Strong organisational skills with an ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
- Good problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Willingness to learn about system integration, construction practices, and electrical safety standards.
- Prior experience or knowledge in telecommunication or electrical fields is a plus but not mandatory.
