Earn while you learn\n\n- Gain an SCQF automotive qualification\n\n- Work full time in a Garage Paint Shop\n\n- Job based in Kirknewton, Livingston\u00A0\n\n- Immediate start\n\nGTG Training are recruiting for an Apprentice Paint Technician on behalf of an independent garage.\u00A0This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are ready to advance their career within the automotive industry.\n\nThe Modern Apprenticeship Programmes allow apprentices to work full time and\u00A0earn while they learn putting theory into practice within a training environment.\n\nAs well as attending the training centre for week block release of training, regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.\n\nWhat Might a Typical Day in this Job look like?\n\nThe Vehicle Paintwork Repair apprenticeship provides prospective paintwork technicians with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out the role of a modern vehicle paint technician.\u00A0\n\nExamples of the units covered are:\u00A0\n\nContributing to housekeeping\u00A0\nReducing risks to health and safety\u00A0\nMaintaining working relationships\u00A0\nPreparing metal and pre-painted surfaces\u00A0\nEstablishing defects on motor vehicles\u00A0\nSpot repair on motor vehicles\u00A0\nCarrying out blend/fade out repair\u00A0\nEdge to edge repair\u00A0\nMixing and matching colours for motor vehicles\u00A0\nAdvanced colour matching for motor vehicles\u00A0 What will I learn?\n\nRegular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.\n\nYou will train through GTG to SCQF Level 6 in Vehicle Refinishing What qualifications or qualities are required?\n\nYou must have or expect to gain National 4 or above in English, Maths, and either a Science or Technical Subject.\u00A0If you are working towards these qualifications, please state this in your application.\n\nWhat personal qualities are required?\n\nWe are looking for candidates who want to kickstart their career in the automotive industry and who are keen to learn.\nYou must be dedicated and have a proactive approach to your work and learning.\nYou are able to prioritise and work to timelines.\nA willingness to work in a practical environment using your own initiative.\nA full UK Driving licence is essential as training will take place in Glasgow.\u00A0\nIf youâve got the right skills for the job, we want to hear from you.
