Our apprentices will join the KLM UK Engineering team in supporting customers from around the globe. Initial learning takes place in the International Aviation Academy Norwich – a world-class training centre and the first of its kind – which hosts a live Boeing 737 aircraft.
You will learn the required practical and theoretical skills to become a qualified aircraft maintenance professional and gain a recognised level 3 qualification.
Selection Criteria
We are looking for individuals who have a passion for aviation and engineering; are aged 16 or over with 5 GCSEs at grade 5 or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English, and have valid right to live and work in the UK without sponsorship. You will also:
- Be open to developmental feedback with an appetite to continuously improve your performance
- Be open, honest and trustworthy with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Be reliable, flexible and hard working
- Be an effective communicator within a team.
Any experience with mechanical or electrical equipment or a demonstrable interest in engineering would be advantageous. Combined or Triple Science GCSEs at grade 5 or above (or equivalent) are desirable.
We kindly ask that you do not use AI tools to write your application, as it’s important that we get a genuine sense of who you are, in your own words.

Additional Information
As part of our ongoing outreach and commitment to supporting local communities, we are actively prioritising applications from candidates based in the local area. By fostering this approach and investing in local talent, we will contribute to economic growth and community development in our area as well as building a strong, connected, and committed team.
If you already hold a relevant qualification or licence (for example, a CAT A licence or degree) or have significant, relevant experience, we are required to review this as apprenticeship funds cannot pay for training and assessment that is duplicated. This is particularly relevant where your existing qualifications are at a higher level than a level 3 apprenticeship. If your recognition of prior learning and experience (RPLE) means that there isn’t enough new training left to deliver, you may not be eligible for a funded apprenticeship place because the remaining programme would fall below the minimum delivery thresholds of this qualification.
