Overview
We are seeking an Apprentice Precious Metal Polisher to join our team. Polishing is a finishing technique used on metal. It is the process of refining a metal surface using abrasive compounds applied by hand or by a polishing wheel (lathe) which runs at speed. The ideal candidate will be a school leaver and must be prepared to serve a 4 year apprenticeship. This will include 20 days per year at The Goldsmiths' Centre in London for years 2, 3 and 4. As a Polisher you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and finish. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will contribute significantly to our production process.
Responsibilities
- Operate hand tools and polishing lathes and finish products to specified standards.
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance, ensuring they meet company specifications.
- Perform assembly tasks as required, contributing to the overall production process.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance product quality.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
