Your Role
Your role is to provide administrative support to the legally qualified members of the Company and mentor Trainee/Apprentice Administrative Assistants.
Your Duties
Your duties (non-exhaustive) will include:
- Awareness of and implementation of SQM procedures set down in the OM
- Compliance with policy
- Transcribing audio dictation
- Typing
- Administration of files in accordance with the OM
- Dealing with clients by telephone and face to face for the making of appointments and general enquiries
- Preparing claims for costs from and communicating with the LAA and NTT
- Communicating with Court and criminal justice agency staff
- Ensuring any developing issues are brought to the attention of the lawyers
- Directing legal enquiries to a suitably qualified person within the Company
- Raising any concerns you may have about a file with the caseworker in case any thing has been overlooked
- Participating in the management meetings when invited to do so
- Identifying and bringing to the attention of the Directors any general concerns or breaches of policy or procedure
Accountability
Your work will be supervised by the Directors and you are accountable directly to the Directors. It is to the Directors that you should address any concerns or complaints.
Training and Development
Any training and development needs that you identify should be brought to the Directors attention. You may be required to undertake further training and development to enable you to carry out specific duties and manage change within the organisation, or to address any deficiencies identified, whether at staff appraisals or otherwise.
Person Specification
The role requires a friendly and approachable disposition, flexibility, initiative and a willingness to support the caseworkers. You are required to maintain good communication, technology and written skills.
Hours
Monday - Friday (exact hours to be confirmed)

- Minimum of 4 GCSE’s grade 3/D or higher
- Grade 4/C or equivalent in either Maths or English

Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard, which includes:
Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
End-Point Assessment (EPA)
