Atomic is delighted to partner with a progressive, modern, and fast-growing accounting practice that is seeking an Apprentice Accountant to join its Camberley office. The firm supports start-ups, small and established businesses, limited companies, sole traders, and individuals, providing comprehensive accounting, business advisory, and taxation services.
As a Trainee Accountant, you will gain exposure to a wider range of services than is typical within many practices, giving you a strong foundation and broad career prospects within the profession. Due to continued growth and ongoing client wins, this role offers excellent opportunities for career development and progression within the firm.
Responsibilities
- Undertake a formal training contract to study towards an ACA or ACCA qualification
- Perform bookkeeping up to trial balance, prepare VAT returns, and reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Prepare annual Statutory Accounts and Corporation Tax returns
- Assist with client payrolls, personal tax returns, and audit work
- Help develop, document, and update internal procedures and systems
- Complete ad hoc assignments as required
Requirements
- GCSE Mathematics and English, preferably at Grade 6 or above
- Three relevant A Levels (including Mathematics) at Grade B or above preferred
- A proactive, hardworking, and organised individual with a strong "can-do" attitude
- High levels of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
