About Strike Capital
Strike Capital is a San Francisco-based investment firm investing in visionary technology companies at the early and growth stages. Over the last four years, we have invested more than $300 million in leading startups across AI, cloud infrastructure, vertical software, and deep technology sectors – backing bold founders from inception through IPO. We pride ourselves on being full lifecycle investors – we’re not just along for one round, but support our companies at every step of their journey. We take high-conviction, thematic bets and build a concentrated portfolio, allowing us to be a meaningful partner to every entrepreneur we back.
Through our global network of enterprise customers, seasoned operators, and strategic partners, we open doors to new customers, top-tier talent, and other strategic relationships for our founders. These connections help accelerate our portfolio companies’ growth.
We operate with the intensity and agility of a fast-growing startup and aim to build a multi-generational investment platform for the innovation economy.
What We Seek
We are hiring a full‑time Associate or Senior Associate in San Francisco to be a core member of our lean and high‑velocity team. You’ll work side‑by‑side with partners and collaborate closely with founders as we source, evaluate, and support investments in the next generation of standout technology companies. This is an apprenticeship‑style role with real ownership from day one.
This is an opportunity to be an integral part of a growing platform where you can have a tremendous impact and even help shape our focus as the firm expands. The role can scale with the firm as our platform grows.
Key Responsibilities
As part of a lean team, you will have high visibility across the entire investment lifecycle. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Source new investments:Take the lead in generating deal flow by scouting promising startups, building relationships with founders, and managing our deal pipeline. As the first point of contact for many entrepreneurs, you’ll drive outreach efforts and keep our CRM up to date.
- Investment due diligence: Dive deep into prospective investments – assess markets and competitive landscapes, build financial models, speak with customers and industry references, and work with partners to pressure-test the investment thesis. Your thorough, insightful diligence will help the team form conviction on which opportunities to pursue.
- Thematic research & thesis development:Help identify “what’s next” for Strike. You’ll research emerging technology trends and assist in developing and evaluating new investment themes (for example, creating market maps and landscape analyses in sectors we’re exploring). Your work will inform where we focus our efforts next.
- Deal execution & memos:Support partners through the deal process from first meeting to close. You will build financial models, prepare investment memos and presentations for partnership meetings, and coordinate various workstreams (legal, technical, etc.) during deal execution. You’ll hone the craft of articulating why an investment makes sense (or doesn’t) through clear, compelling analysis and communication.
- Portfolio support: After we invest, we work with our founders to help them succeed. Whether it’s leveraging our network to connect companies with key customers and top-tier talent, or rolling up your sleeves on strategic and operational challenges, you will be a go-to resource for our portfolio companies. You’ll also assist with portfolio monitoring and investor updates as needed.
- Platform & internal initiatives: As a member of a small firm, you’ll wear many hats. You might optimize our internal data platform, assist with LP reporting, coordinate a founder roundtable event, or create thought leadership content that elevates Strike Capital’s brand. We love team members who take initiative and continuously improve how we operate.
What You Bring (Skills and Requirements)
- 2–5 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, growth equity, investment banking, consulting, startups, or a comparable environment that demonstrates hunger, curiosity, and analytical talent.
- Technical rigor with hands-on experience in financial modeling (3-statement models), unit economics analysis, cohort retention analysis, and valuation comps; comfortable with market sizing and competitive analysis.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data into succinct insights and compelling presentations.
- Analytical horsepower paired with crisp judgment — able to turn messy inputs into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
- An ownership mindset — capable of simultaneously managing multiple workstreams and deadlines without dropping the ball.
- Passion for technology and startups, demonstrated by genuine enthusiasm for innovation and entrepreneurship and a natural curiosity about new trends.
- Sound judgment, a strong work ethic, and the highest standards of personal and professional integrity.
- A collaborative, low-ego team player who thrives in a high-performance culture of continuous improvement.
