Job summary

Develop and deliver targeted data selections for our marketing, research, financial adviser, web-ops and ad-hoc service communications.
Ensure that audience selections, personalisation and planned tests are accurate, measurable and well documented, using robust statistical experimentation and targeting methodologies.
Keep customer data secure by implementing our obligations under GDPR and following data protection guidance.
Test and broadcast customer and adviser outputs (ensuring the right data is applied to the right communication), and provide high-level analysis of channel engagement and response.

Person specification

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC in a statistical subject or equivalent)
5 GCSEs, including English and Maths at Grade 5 (C) or above or equivalent qualification
You must not already hold a Level 4 Apprenticeship Qualification in Data Analysis.

Experience

Any experience with large data sets or in a data role including analysing data sets, including querying and extracting data for communications.
Demonstrable interest or experience of working with any of the following analytical tools; SAS, R, Python or Visualisation tools; Tableau, PowerBI or other Marketing Automation tools.
Understanding of statistical hypothesis testing and campaign design methodology.
Ability to interpret data and analysis, summarise key findings and make recommendations to non-data literate colleagues.
Strong planning and organisational skills to meet deadlines.
A proven ability to demonstrate attention to detail.

This vacancy is using Success Profiles , and will assess your Behaviours, Strengths and Experience.

The main purpose of the role will be to support the administration of the Data and CRM function while also gaining new knowledge, skills and behaviours to help you achieve the following qualifications:

Data Analyst Level 4 Apprenticeship Training Course

Qualifications:

Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC in a statistical subject or equivalent)
GCSEs, including English and Maths at Grade 5 (C) or above or equivalent qualification
You must not already hold a Level 4 Apprenticeship Qualification in Data Analysis.

In addition to the above requirement, to apply for an apprenticeship, you must:

be aged 16 or older
not be in full-time education
have the right to live and work in the UK
undertake only one apprenticeship at any one time
spend at least 20% of your employed time 'off-the-job' learning.

Level of qualification

You can do an apprenticeship at the same level as (or lower than) a qualification you already hold. However, you would need to gain substantive new skills. Plus, you'd need to be able to justify that the content of the training is materially different from any prior qualification or previous apprenticeship you've completed.

If you already hold a higher level qualification in a Data and CRM related subject, you may not be eligible for this apprenticeship.

A 250 word personal statement on the following subject:
- What skills and experience have you had that would make you a valuable asset/interesting to the Data & CRM Team at NS&I?
A 250 word statement for each of the two key behaviours that we are looking for with this role, namely Developing Self & Others, Working Together.
- Please use examples from your experience and knowledge to demonstrate how you meet them addressing the essential criteria in the Person Specification. We would recommend using the STAR method.
