Service Engineer – Marine, Port & Harbour Cranes
Salary: £40,000–£50,000 (experience dependent) + overtime at £24/hr
Location: UK/Ireland as required (70% of work will be NI & Ireland)
Hours: Mon–Fri, 08:00–17:00 (45 hours/week, paid 30-minute lunch break)

Silverwood Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a leader in the marine, port, and harbour crane industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced engineers to join a forward-thinking, dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commission, maintain, and inspect cranes, lifting equipment, and mechanical systems.
- Fault-find and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Produce clear, factual reports and assist with spare parts procurement.
- Rigging and lift planning.
- Ensure HSEQ compliance and minimize environmental risks.
- Occasional international travel for training or to assist other departments.
What We’re Looking For:
- Apprentice served in Electrical or Hydraulic Engineering.
- Experience in the marine, port, and harbour crane industry (Liebherr, Gottwald, Kalmar preferred).
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance and load monitoring equipment.
- Ability to read schematics and engineering drawings.
- Comfortable working at heights.
- Strong IT and report-writing skills.
- Leadership or supervisory experience is advantageous.
- Full UK/Ireland driving licence.
