Job Description
Due to continue growth, an exciting opportunity is now available for an Engineering Apprentice to join our team in Dudley!
As an Engineering Apprentice you will ensure the smooth day to day running of the technical function and ensure that company quality standards are adhered to.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hour working week.
Salary: £11.44 per hour.
Key duties of an Engineering Apprentice:
- Assisting the Production team where possible.
- Assist with the monitoring of machines and ancillary plant.
- Follow preventative maintenance and lubrication schedules.
- Assisting with repairs during production.
- Assisting with planned maintenance.
- Build knowledge and experience in the following: Horizontal flow packers, vertical form fill baggers,Carton erectors, Gluing systems, Met /dets, Checkweighers, Pallet wrapping m/c, Shrink wrapping and various bespoke hand packing / labelling lines some with printers.
- To assist in scheduled work to restore machines and site back to standard.
- To assist in changeovers when required.
- Look for opportunities to continuously improve machine performance.
- To take part in training and development when required.
- To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time, that reasonably fall within the scope and grade of the post.
Qualifications
- GCSE English and Maths - Grade 4 or above required.
- Engineering qualification will need to be completed as part of the apprenticeship.
- Must be able to communicate within their own team and to key stakeholders.
- Good IT skills, competent in MS packages.
- Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive disposition, and a clear focus on meeting deadlines.
- Must be flexible in approach to work.
