Salary: £23,150 - £23,893
Hours: 37 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday. Tuesday & Wednesday 08:00 – 16:30, Thursday 08:00 – 16:00 and Friday 08:00 – 14:00
Contract: Fixed Term for the term of the apprenticeship

North Yorkshire Council’s Vehicle Workshops are a hive of activity and vibrant place to work. There is a real mixture of experience and many young people who make up the teams. The real benefit of working for this service is the variety of work which is undertaken and the exposure to vast variety of vehicles ranging from HGV, light goods vehicles, vehicles, vans, cars, tractors, and plant machinery on the council fleet.

The Role:
As our Apprentice Vehicle Technician, you will be committed to undertaking and completing Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair over a 3-4 year period.
Your day-today tasks will include:
· Vehicle and plant maintenance and repairs
· Housekeeping duties
· Welding, fabrication and body work
· Diagnostic fault finding
· MOT preparation
· Hydraulic/Pneumatic repairs
· Electrical repairs and fault finding
If you have previous experience in a vehicle maintenance role and an interest in Horticultural Engineering that’s great but you will be given all the support and training you require regardless of experience. You may be looking for a change of direction and to do something different – this could be the ideal opportunity for you.
