determination to succeed? If so, we have an incredible opportunity for you! Join our dynamic and forward-thinking team at HMS as
an Apprentice Plumber, where you will gain practical experience and develop valuable skills, working towards an NVQ Level 3
qualification. This is a 48-month apprenticeship. Successful candidates will be expected to travel to their assigned college
(Hybrid HQ) or workplace as required.

What Will You Be Doing?
* Learn to carry out all aspects of internal and external plumbing, including installations, maintenance, and remedial work.
* Train in the safe and proper use of tools, equipment, and materials.
* Develop the skills, knowledge, and competence required to independently carry out all core tasks associated with the trade by
the end of the apprenticeship programme.
* Develop skills to plan and organise work efficiently within set priorities and deadlines.
* Work within a scheduled appointment system, liaising with customers and colleagues.
* Gain experience in diagnosing issues and measuring for accurate job completion.
* Use IT systems to receive instructions, complete work orders, communicate, and manage materials.
* Make informed decisions on repairs within contract guidelines and manage customer expectations when delays occur.
* Accurately complete all documentation related to the role.
* Participate in the company’s training, development, and competency programmes.
* Maintain van stock effectively and minimise waste through good material management.
* Follow all health and safety procedures, reporting any incidents promptly.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and contractors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
* Meet expected standards of work, customer service, and performance targets.
* Attend college and complete all required apprenticeship assessments.
* Support the wider team and carry out additional duties as required.
What We’re Looking For:
* English and Maths GCSE at Grade 4 (C) or above, or Functional Skills Level 1 or Level 2 (or equivalent). For mature learners
(19+/21+), entry requirements may be applied flexibly and GCSEs may be waived where candidates can demonstrate significant
construction experience and/or site supervisory responsibilities. In such cases, suitability may be assessed through a skills
assessment and/or professional discussion, and Functional Skills in English and/or Maths may still be required depending on
individual circumstances.
* A strong work ethic and enthusiasm for learning a trade.
* Commitment to academic learning, including attending college.
* Excellent time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
* Good IT skills and the ability to use communication tools effectively.
* A customer-focused attitude and the ability to work well in a team.
* Flexibility and resilience in a fast-paced work environment.
* A commitment to obtaining a full UK driving licence by the end of your apprenticeship
Assessment Day
* Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an assessment day to further evaluate their skills and suitability for the
apprenticeship. Assessment day will take place on 2nd July 2026 at Hybrid HQ.
College or Training Organisation
* All our Plumber apprentices are enrolled in Hybrid HQ - Unit 3, The Boxworks, 18 Heysham Rd, Aintree, Liverpool L30 6UR
Your Training Plan
* You will receive both on-the-job and off-the-job training over the course of 48 months, following a detailed induction and
training plan. You will attend college on a day-release basis. Upon successful completion, you will earn the Level 3
Qualification in Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician
During Your Apprenticeship
* You will work across our three main vibrant heartlands – Liverpool, Warrington, and St Helens and surrounding areas, where
you’ll rotate through a variety of dynamic workstreams, gaining hands-on experience and building a broad foundation of
knowledge along the way.
