At Jack Henry, we build technology that powers financial institutions and strengthens the communities they serve. Our apprenticeship program is designed to develop future‑ready talent through hands‑on experience, mentorship, and meaningful work alongside experienced professionals.
About the Team
This apprenticeship sits within our Commercial Platforms (Treasury Management) engineering organization. The team delivers technology that helps large businesses manage liquidity, cash flow, and financial risk. As part of our modernization efforts, we are evolving our platform architecture and building a new digital experience that supports the next generation of commercial financial services.
About the Apprenticeship
As a Software Engineering Apprentice, you’ll gain real‑world experience working on modern backend systems that support a large‑scale fintech platform. This is a learning‑first role where you’ll collaborate closely with experienced engineers, contribute to production systems, and build a strong foundation for a long‑term career in software engineering.
This apprenticeship aligns with Jack Henry’s Software Engineering career path, with the opportunity to convert to a full‑time Engineer I, Software role upon successful completion of the program.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
* Collaborate with experienced engineers to design, implement, test, and support backend microservices
* Participate in requirements gathering, whiteboarding sessions, and architecture discussions
* Support proof‑of‑concept development, implementation planning, and feature build‑outs
* Assist with infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and observability integration
* Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and maintaining reliable system health
* Work daily with engineers, business analysts, and product management, while partnering with UI/UX and other technical teams across Jack Henry
* Build foundational knowledge of fintech, payments, digital assets, Web3 concepts, and modern financial infrastructure
Throughout the apprenticeship, you’ll receive structured mentorship, regular feedback, and opportunities to grow your technical and professional skills.
Team Culture
Our team is collaborative, learning‑focused, and innovation‑driven. We value curiosity, open discussion, and thoughtful experimentation—whether that’s exploring new infrastructure components or applying AI‑assisted tooling to accelerate development. We take pride in supporting early‑career talent and have a proven track record of developing interns and apprentices into successful full‑time engineers.
Management & Support
You’ll be supported by a servant‑first leadership approach that emphasizes hands‑on coaching, real‑time mentorship, and shared accountability. Expectations are clear, communication is direct and supportive, and your growth and success are prioritized through practical guidance and access to the tools you need to thrive.
What We’re Looking For
This role is ideal for an individual early in their technical career who is motivated, reliable, and eager to learn by doing. Successful apprentices bring curiosity, accountability, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset, along with a positive and resilient approach to solving challenges.
