The Role:
There are 2 Finance Apprentice roles available within the Accountancy Team of the Resources Directorate.
· 1st position will support across Business Partnering and Corporate Finance
· 2nd position will be based within the Repairs and Maintenance/Housing Revenue Finance Team
Both roles will gain experience of all aspects of finance in a local authority setting.
Dependent on your experience will depend on the level of apprenticeship for the role and length:
· The Level 2 Apprenticeship has a duration of 12 months plus up to a 3 month EPA period Accounts or finance assistant / Skills England
· The Level 3 Apprenticeship has a duration of 15 months plus up to a 6 month EPA period Assistant accountant / Skills England
· The Level 4 Apprenticeship has a duration of 18 months plus up to 6 month EPA period Professional accounting technician / Skills England
Key Responsibilities:
· Assisting the monthly budget monitoring and reporting
· Helping to compile data for the budget setting, year end and forecasting
· Extraction and manipulation of data from the finance systems, including reconciliations and analysis
· Help maintaining accurate financials records and adherence to financial regulations, policies and procedures
· Support and development of good relationships with budget holders
· Undertake formal training towards the Association of Accounting Technicians qualification
