Are you looking for a career that combines heritage, craftsmanship, and the opportunity to be part of something truly unique?
William Clark & Sons is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Apprentice Beetler, learning one of the most distinctive and historic textile finishing skills still practiced today. Beetling is a traditional process used to create the distinctive sheen and texture found in high-quality linen. It is a craft that has been carefully preserved for generations, and this role offers the rare opportunity to learn and carry forward a remarkable piece of textile history.
As an Apprentice Beetler, you will work alongside experienced craftspeople, learning the specialised skills required to operate and maintain the beetling process. This is a hands-on role in a working mill environment, where you will develop practical expertise while contributing to the production of world-renowned Irish linen.
The work can at times be physically demanding, but it is also deeply rewarding. You will play a direct role in producing a finish that cannot be replicated by modern methods alone—helping ensure this traditional craft continues for future generations.
This apprenticeship comes at an exciting time for William Clark & Sons. The company is continuing to invest in its facilities, people, and innovation. Alongside the preservation of traditional techniques, new products and applications are being developed that will take this historic practice confidently into the 21st century.
The role also involves working on and learning other equipment within the William Clark & Sons portfolio as required
