What You’ll Be Doing
The Apprentice Electrician assists in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and components under the supervision of a licensed electrician. This role supports safe, reliable, and efficient facility and production operations while learning electrical trade skills and standards.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Support troubleshooting of electrical systems, control panels, motors, and machinery.
- Learn and follow electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Perform basic electrical testing using multimeters and other diagnostic tools.
- Assist with conduit bending, wire pulling, and termination work.
- Follow all safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and company safety policies.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and tool storage.
- Document work performed and assist with maintenance records as required.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance, production, and engineering teams.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Basic understanding of electrical theory and components.
- Ability to read and learn to interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Strong attention to safety procedures and detail.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn trade skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Education And Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Enrollment in or willingness to enroll in an accredited electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
- Previous industrial or manufacturing experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to [XX] lbs.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various environmental conditions.
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing / industrial facility setting.
- May require overtime, on-call availability, or shift work depending on operational needs.
Safety Requirements
- Must follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
