Where you’ll be working:
As a Machining Technician Apprentice (Level 3) at Baxi you’ll be working within the components team in Preston, reporting to the Setter Team Leader. You’ll be working as part of a team focused on setting a variety of CNC machines, manual and auto presses, including Coil fed presses to make ready for Operators to use them safely and correctly.
Your responsibilities:
- To set and operate a variety of CNC controlled machines, Hydraulic and mechanical presses, and press brakes within the component's facility.
- Read and understand engineering drawings.
- Carry out inspection to designated quality standards and procedures.
- To have the ability to train new or existing operators
- To be proactive in all process improvement initiatives
What we’re looking for:
Full training will be provided both at Burnley College and in the workplace throughout your apprenticeship to ensure you’re both safe in a busy manufacturing environment and feel enabled to do your role to the best of your abilities.

- A keen interest in engineering/mechanics
- Confident following clear instructions to complete a task
- Excellent levels of communication
- GCSE grade 4 or above in English & Maths
