What You’ll Be Doing
As an Apprentice Civil Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our earthworks are delivered right, first time, every time.
You’ll work on a rotational pattern of 3 weeks on site and 1 week at university, giving you the perfect balance of academic learning and real-world experience.
During your apprenticeship, you’ll grow into the role of a Blackwell Engineer by:
- Setting out and surveying earthworks using advanced GNSS technology
- Reviewing 3D machine control models and technical drawings
- Working closely with site teams to plan safe, efficient construction methods
- Preparing essential documentation, including RAMS and QA plans
- Supporting site management with short-term planning and commercial tasks
This role is hands-on gaining meaningful engineering experience from day one.
What We’re Looking For
To get started, you’ll need:
- A-levels in Maths, Further Maths, or Physics making you eligible to join Coventry University’s Civil Engineering Apprenticeship (Level 4 or Level 6 BEng)
- A full UK driving licence
- Meet the criteria to join the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) as a student member
- A UK citizen or holding permanent leave to remain
- HNC, CSCS Black Card, or SMSTS would be beneficial
