As an Apprentice Plant Operative, you’ll be part of the quarry team producing the materials for the construction industry ensuring we deliver high quality products for the customers. You’ll be trained to operate machinery (including dumpers & loading shovels) and how to ensure you maintain the highest level of safety for you and your colleagues at all times.
There will be required to attend 3 x 4 week blocks of training in East Anglia in England, which will require you to be residential, for which Breedon will cover the costs of any accommodation, travel and meals.
If you’re one to tiptoe around puddles with trepidation, maybe this role isn’t for you. You won’t be spending every day in a clean, corporate office swivelling on an office chair! If you have a natural affinity with the great outdoors, in all weathers, then now we’re talking!
Do you offer...?
* National 4 in Maths & English desirable although not essential.
* An interest in working in the great outdoors.
* Good communication skills.
* Flexibility and the ability to work as part of an effective quarry operational team.
* Skill set of being self-motivated and able to motivate other colleagues in the team.
* A full UK Driving Licence – during your apprenticeship with us, we want you to experience and see everything we have to offer so you will need to be flexible to travel to other sites.
* Flexibility with your working hours which may include weekends and evenings.
* The enthusiasm to get stuck in and work as part of a team.
* You will need to be a minimum age of 18 (by July 2026).
