As an Apprentice you will work within the HPEFS Lifecycle Services Delivery Operation. Our facility is designed to refurbish and remarket preowned IT assets where possible or ethically recycle if no longer usable. You will join a dynamic and adaptable test team, working across a wide range of technologies including industry-standard servers, third-party computing equipment, and networking solutions.
Responsibilities:
- You will become a superuser in Linux Red Hat which you will use to test inbound enterprise material with custom scripts specific to stress test products including debugging.
- Perform data erasure by manufacturing resets to IT equipment to ensure all customer data is eradicated.
- Working on various products including: Servers- performing data erasure and hardware tests to ensure product is fit for resale. Storage – performing data erasure from third party drive using erasure software to ensure data sanitisation and report producing. Networking – performing command line resetting switches through a serial connect using terminal software such as Putty & Power Term as well as a clean boot up of the switch for functionality check.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and scripting issues by analysing inbound materials, identifying missing or incorrectly configured components, and following established technical support procedures.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders using digital communication tools such as Microsoft Outlook and Teams to provide timely updates on test-phase release orders and support service performance targets.
- Work as part of a small test and support team to monitor application workflows, track order status within test environments, and help maintain agreed cycle time metrics through effective coordination with cross-functional teams
- Contribute to daily departmental meetings, clearly communicating technical priorities, workflow progress, and order management updates to ensure smooth operational delivery.

Salary: £21,500 per annum.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm.
