Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Project Manager Apprentice at IBM, you’ll use the latest tools and technologies available to deliver best in class projects for a diverse range of clients. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that critical projects for our clients are expertly organized, scheduled, budgeted, and managed to help organizations improve their business outcomes in the global marketplace.
Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll work closely with multiple experienced project managers and mentors in an interactive, collaborative environment. You’ll learn the fundamentals of project management, including: project budgeting, planning, scope management, risk management, conflict resolution, change management, and quality control. In addition, you will be introduced to concepts and skills such as: presentation skills, client relationship management skills, Microsoft Excel skills, lean six sigma concepts, Big Data knowledge, agile principles, IBM Design Thinking, and communication skills. Finally, you will apply these skills to prepare for and successfully obtain a Certified Associate in Project Manager (CAPM) certification. CAPM is a professional project manager credential and career milestone that is earned by passing a multiple choice exam. Our apprenticeship program will give you the opportunity to build your skills to grow your career as an Associate Project Manager.
