Our 5-year apprenticeship gives you the knowledge, experience and qualification you need to start a career as an Environmental Advisor. You’ll get hands-on experience at the UK’s leading Engineering and Services business, working across our Engineering and Freedom businesses, working on various exciting projects across built environment, water, infrastructure and power. You will join a super dynamic team, who will fully support you through your studies and help you achieve your future career ambitions.
As an apprentice environmental advisor, you will support the delivery of our environmental strategy by improving awareness, ensuring compliance, and helping embed best practice across the business. You’ll work closely with operational teams, design and procurement colleagues, and site managers to ensure our environmental responsibilities are met — and exceeded.
As an NG Bailey apprentice you will:

You will learn to:
- Work as part of a team to assist in the delivery of Environmental strategy
- Assist in maintaining and update tailored Aspects & Impacts Registers for all relevant sites.
- Support the internal communication and environmental awareness activities across the business
- Work alongside the team to complete environmental audits of priority sites, including depots and fixed-managed locations.
- Assist in the database maintenance.
- Assist in managing all non-conformances and ensure actions are resolved promptly
- Under guidance, help capture and report all waste data including waste type, weight, and disposal routes.
- Support internal operational environmental training
- Engage in a timely and professional manner with clients and a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Provide the business with ad-hoc assistance on other projects when necessary.

You will attend Harper Adams University on block release to complete the Environmental Practitioner Degree apprenticeship. In addition, you will regularly attend in house training and development as part of the programme.
To apply you need:
5 GCSEs (or equivalent) grade C/4 or above in English Language, Maths, Science and 2 other subjects.
Plus, have achieved (or be predicted to achieve) 3x A-Levels grade C (or equivalent such as a Level 3 apprenticeship in a construction or property-related discipline).
Please note, to be eligible for an apprenticeship you:
- Must be able to complete the apprenticeship within the required time, including the End-Point Assessment.
- Must have a valid and eligible residency status and the right to work in England.
- Must be ordinarily resident in the UK or its territories for at least 3 years before starting the apprenticeship.
