Are you finishing school or are you thinking about changing career and getting into engineering?
Do you enjoy practical work, problem-solving, and learning how things are made?
We’re looking for enthusiastic, hands-on individuals to join our team as an Apprentice Toolmaker. This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn, gain a recognised qualification, and build a long-term career in manufacturing and engineering.
What you’ll be doing
As an Apprentice Toolmaker, you’ll learn how to:
Manufacture, modify, repair and refurbish tooling and equipment (including injection mould and extrusion tools)
Use workshop machinery and bench toolmaking techniques
Read and work from technical drawings
Diagnose problems and find practical solutions
Work safely, following Health & Safety rules and quality standards
Keep your work area clean, organised and safe
Work as part of a supportive team while developing your skills and confidence
Don’t worry — you won’t be expected to know everything from day one. You’ll be trained, supported, and guided throughout your apprenticeship.
What we’re looking for
We’re more interested in attitude and potential than experience. You’ll be a good fit if you:
Have at least 4 GCSEs at Level 4 or above, including Maths and Science
Have a genuine interest in engineering, mechanics or how things work
Enjoy problem-solving and working with your hands
Are reliable, keen to learn and take pride in your work
Communicate well and enjoy working as part of a team
Are open to learning new skills and trying new challenges
Training & working hours
Why choose Polypipe?
Earn while you learn
Gain valuable, real-world engineering skills
Work towards a recognised qualification
Be part of a well-established, supportive business
Set yourself up for a long-term career in manufacturing
