Your learning will take place at the Edinburgh FBC UK site as well as the Edinburgh & District Engineering Training Association for a fantastic opportunity to achieve an Engineering Maintenance/Systems (Mechanical Bias), SVQ Level 3 qualification.

Key accountabilitiesKey responsibilities: - Learn and observe a wide range of engineering skills and processes under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Gradually apply these skills independently and as part of a team, increasing your contribution as your training progresses.
- Maintain good hygiene and care for tools, equipment, and your working area.
- Complete all required training and coursework to a high standard to support your annual progression through the apprenticeship.
- Understand and follow workplace Health & Safety procedures and develop strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Learn how to maintain and repair workshop equipment.
- Keep an accurate, detailed logbook of tasks, projects, and evidence (including photos) to support college and apprenticeship requirements.
Skills & experienceKey Ingredients for suitable candidates include: - 5 GCSE’s at 8 or above, including Maths and English.
- Ability to follow instructions, to use own initiative and to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to communicate with a variety of people, willing to ask for support as necessary and maintaining a positive outlook and ‘can do’ approach to tasks
- Possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
- Engineering experience / Level 2 Qualification is advantageous but not essential
