Connsci is looking for a Business Development (BD) Operations Analyst who will be working with a team responsible for securing existing and winning new business. The BD Operations Analyst is responsible for pipeline and customer engagement data analysis at the Organization level, driving process improvement and data integrity across multiple different portfolios. This role includes marketing and communications support for BD, market research, reporting metrics, CRM-efficiency, and pipeline management. The BD Operations Lead position will collaborate across the Account teams including BD, Capture Managers, Communications staff, the Customer Excellence team and finance. The position is based in Ft Lauderdale or Gaithersburg, MD and reports to the Chief Strategy Officer. Remote work is authorized 80%. The work location is DMV Area or Ft Lauderdale Area. Candidate must reside with 20 miles and be open to occasionally travel. Depending on experience level, may require in office work environment until proficiency is demonstrated during an initial probationary period (first 90 days).
As the BD Operations Analyst, you will work in a fast-paced environment and will support matrixed teams in the pursuit of Federal business opportunities. You will be an integral part of is a rapidly growing firm with a maturing business development capability and a burgeoning infrastructure that supports all aspects of a successful proposal response (contracts, recruiting, pricing, capture, solution architecture). This position is a highly visible role that works closely with executive leadership, account executives, capture personnel, and operations management.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary lead for CRM activity and reporting; responsible for data integrity, automation, BD metrics. Experience with NextStage CRM is a plus.
- Responsible for win plan progress for top opportunities and pipeline management
- Partner with Finance, Contracts and BD Operations team on gross award reconciliations and book-to-bill analysis
- Create charge codes for new approved opportunities and track new business funds.
- Supports preparation efforts for leadership briefings and account plans
- Supports development of BD reporting including weekly, period close metrics, quarterly forecasting and annual operation plan.
- Perform market research on the market trends and measure the results against current pipeline targets/timing.
- Perform market research to include customer preferences and competitive analysis.
- Coordinate conferences and tradeshow activities across Accounts and collaborate with Marketing team on cross-coordinated conferences Connsci participates in
- Manage Operation-level events to include responsibility of financial/budget components, processes and deliverables execution; marketing events include but are not limited to trade shows, sponsorships, charitable contributions, memberships
- Interacts routinely with the Operation and Group management, functional POCs, and staff.
- Track Opportunities in (but not limited to) GOVWIN, GSA, T4NG, etc.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of prior relevant experience or Master with at least 1 year of prior relevant experience
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Extreme attention to detail
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment, gain consensus, accept correction and development recommendations, and deliver on expectations
- Comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications
- High energy, enthusiasm, and competitive spirit
- Prior business development experience
- Strong financial acumen (understanding of backlog, factoring, book-to-bill)
- Graphics/PowerPoint design presentation abilities
- Knowledge of Government Contractor's proposal process and development
- Experience in sales and/or Marketing
- BD Internship or inside sales experience is a plus
