Our Cost Consultants work across all our sectors supporting cost, commercial and transformational consultancy projects. At its core, Cost Consultancy involves advising on and managing the cost of construction and property projects, supporting from the beginning of a project lifecycle to influence and drive decision making. You will help support clients with cost estimation, project planning, procurement and cost management; your role will be key in providing advice on project finances and contractual relationships. You will monitor budgets and costs throughout the project lifecycle, keeping the client and project team informed. The apprentice will work under the supervision of several professional consultants on the delivery of construction and engineering projects for a variety of clients, to help achieve their objectives and improve the quality of life for their customers. Typical tasks and activities include:\nâ¢\tUndertaking cost research for similar buildings to establish benchmark rates & prices\nâ¢\tWork with senior colleagues to undertake cost estimating and planning\nâ¢\tUse digital tools such as CostX in the production of measurement from online drawings and plans to provide cost advice\nâ¢\tSupport the preparation of technical and legal documentation used in the procurement of suppliers to deliver construction projects\nâ¢\tCreate and monitor project reports and schedules, assisting in the overall successful delivery of construction projects \nâ¢\tUndertake on the job training on a range of industry leading tools and procedures, and, along with the learning from their part-time degree course, apply these skills to ongoing project activities.\n Have gained a minimum SQA Highers\u202Fat ABBB or equivalent, or A-Levels\u202Fat ABC or BBB. \n18 years old and have left full time education when the apprenticeship starts.
