About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive and motivated HR Apprentice to support the HR team across multiple manufacturing sites. This hands-on role is perfect for someone starting their HR career and keen to gain practical experience while completing their CIPD Level 3 qualification.
You will support the delivery of an efficient and people-focused HR service, taking responsibility for day-to-day administrative tasks and providing coordination support to the HR Advisor and HR Business Partners. You’ll bring enthusiasm, initiative, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day HR administration processes, including onboarding, offboarding, contract changes, absence tracking and maintaining HR systems.
- Ensure documentation is accurate, timely, and aligned with GDPR and internal procedures.
- Assist in maintaining the accuracy of employee records, identifying and helping resolve data discrepancies.
- Act as a first point of contact for general HR queries in the shared inbox, signposting employees to policies, People Hub (HR System), or the HR team when required. Providing clear and helpful responses while escalating appropriate queries to the HR Advisor or HRBPs.
- Support the onboarding process for new starters, preparing documentation, contracts and induction materials to create a positive employee experience.
- Assist with gathering feedback from leavers through exit interviews and support offboarding processes.
- Work closely with the HR Advisor and HR Business Partners to support the smooth operation of daily HR activity across sites.
- Participate in wider HR projects, audits, and initiatives to support continuous improvement.

Apprenticeship Overview
- Qualification: CIPD Level 3
- Duration: 12–18 months (depending on prior experience and progression)
- Training Structure:
- On-the-job learning: 80% of your time working within The Belfield Group’s HR team.
- Off-the-job learning: 20% of your time spent on training, workshops, and assignments provided by the apprenticeship training provider.
- End-Point Assessment (EPA): Includes a professional discussion, portfolio of evidence, and project presentation.
During the apprenticeship, you’ll gain hands-on HR experience across a leading manufacturing group, with exposure to multiple sites and the chance to develop within a supportive HR team. You’ll build core HR skills — from recruitment and onboarding to HR administration and employee relations support — giving you an excellent foundation to progress into roles such as HR Assistant or HR Advisor in the future.
Entry Requirements
- GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above (or equivalent).
(If not already achieved, you will be supported to complete these as part of the apprenticeship.)
- A keen interest in HR and the furniture/home furnishings industry.
Training and Career Progression
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you’ll achieve the CIPD Level 3 qualification — equivalent to A Level standard.
You will have the opportunity to:
