The Soulful Internship is a year of living in a L’Arche Community whilst supporting our members with learning disabilities and developing your reflective practice. The 2025/26 Internship is running in our Canterbury, Bognor Regis, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Inverness Communities.
Soulful Interns spend four days a week supporting members with learning disabilities to live full and vibrant lives and one day a week being guided through a reflective practice course. The reflective practice course involves meeting with other interns and mentors to explore topics such as mindfulness, community, embodiment, and activism, as well as guided individual reflection activities.

The Soulful Internship is designed for people seeking to deepen their reflective life and build relationships with people who see the world differently. We are not looking for applicants with any particular experience or professional background, but people who are open to growth and relationship. Our 2024/25 cohort includes school leavers taking a gap year, university students on placement years, graduates and people taking sabbaticals.
