What does this team do?

The Project Management Centre of Excellence is a dedicated team of more than 300 people that provide support to our audit and assurance teams through a wide range of services, including project leadership, coordination, and admin.

Our purpose is to improve the project management of audit and assurance engagements and transformation projects across the UK. We seek to standardise our approach by promoting the right tools and work priorities to help complete projects to the best standard possible.

Once you’ve completed your training, You’ll be expected to take ownership and responsibility for a wide range of tasks, working alongside your project team to deliver exceptional service. No two days are the same. You are provided with operating procedures, guides, training, and plenty of support all through.

Key responsibilities include:

Communication and building strong relationships with members of the project teams to extract and challenge information required to accurately plan project tasks.

Sharing and applying project management knowledge across the department, supporting newer team members, directing project teams based on task process guidelines.

General admin support such as minute taking, meetings booking, system/database updates, pulling and issuing reports.

What skills and academic qualifications do I need? (Max 250 words)

ESSENTIAL:

Minimum of five GCSE's, at level 4 (C) in Maths and English.
Personal motivation to deliver high quality standards in all work.

Competent in reviewing information and spotting/rectifying discrepancies in data, emails, and various documentation.

Ability to communicate with colleagues in a positive and professional manner.

A desire to drive efficiencies and improvements, not afraid to challenge the way we do things to achieve a better way of working.

DESIRABLE:

Business Administration - Project Management admin would be useful, as would a broad level of Excel knowledge:

Data interpretation and manipulation using pivots and formulas (SUMIF, COUNTIF, IF statements.)

Data presentation to include the creation of graphs, tables, etc.

What kind of work will I do?

You’ll be involved in a variety of project management and admin tasks.

These include tracking, reporting and analysis of financials, assisting with budgeting practices, presenting findings to senior managers, and working closely with your wider team. You could also collaborate and knowledge share across different projects.

Working as a Project Support Associate will give you an opportunity to network across different business units within Deloitte, gaining great experience working within the financial services sector.

How will I develop?

To complete this apprenticeship, you will need to be based in Wales and travel a minimum of one day a week to Cardiff & Vale College, here you will be studying towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration. You will also be required to be in the Deloitte office at least one day a week.

This career pathway has the opportunity to take you from Associate through to Senior Project Manager, with a people leadership structure to support you and an opportunity to progress within your role and in Deloitte.

You will benefit from tailored project management training, coaching, and on-the-job experience, enabling you to develop your project management skills over several years.
