This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

As a Degree Apprentice Mechanical Engineer, you will experience a broad range of placements to give them an appreciation of multiple disciplines and compliment the academic learning delivered by the university. Additional training courses will be completed to provide the required skills to complete project tasks during the placements.
They will be embedded within project teams and will contribute, from day 1, to the success of the project, whether it be ITER, DEMO, STEP or another project relevant to the UKAEA mission. A mixture of hands-on and desk based, they are expected to be versatile and willing to engage with the whole project teams.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Complete national academic qualification as defined by the apprenticeship training standard: Product design and development engineer (degree) / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education
- Attend designated training provider, develop and attain a good knowledge of technical skills.
- Represent the UKAEA Organisation and attend external outreach and careers events.
