DescriptionWe are on the lookout for an Environmental Intern to join our team in Southampton on a 12 month FTC. The Environmental intern will assist the Senior Environmental Advisor in implementing and maintaining environmental policies and practices across the organisation. This role offers an opportunity for professional growth, providing on-the-job training and hands-on experience in environmental management, compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
How will you contribute
- Assist with the daily administration of environmental systems, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and company policies.
- Support the completion of environmental assessments, identifying potential risks, and recommending appropriate mitigation measures.
- Contribute to sustainability projects, including waste management, carbon and energy reduction, and resource efficiency programs.
- Help ensure the organisation adheres to environmental laws and regulations by maintaining records and updating policies as needed.
- Assist in organising and delivering environmental awareness training sessions for staff, promoting understanding of environmental best practices and regulations.
- Help record and investigate environmental incidents, assisting in the development of reports and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records of environmental activities, assessments, and training, and assist in generating reports for management review.
- Support internal audits of environmental practices, ensuring compliance with required environmental management standards.
- Promote a culture of environmental responsibility by communicating key messages, posting updates, and supporting sustainability campaigns.
- Attend relevant workshops and training to expand knowledge of environmental management, legislation, and best practices.
- Provide general administrative support to the Environmental team and assist with additional duties as required.
What will you bring
- Minimum Requirement: Achieved or be on track to achieve a 2:2 or higher in an Environmental Science or Environment Management degree
- Basic understanding of environmental regulations or a passion for sustainability and environmental protection.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other basic office software
- Ideally a full driving license
