About CIR
The Centre for Information Resilience (CIR) is an independent organisation dedicated to exposing human rights violations and threats to democracy. We achieve this through open source research, digital investigations, capacity-building with local partners, and collaboration with media to amplify our impact.
CIR was born out of a determination to expose those spreading harm – online and offline – around the world, particularly in areas of violent conflict, such as Ukraine, Sudan and Myanmar. Our projects are at the forefront of efforts to investigate and document human rights abuses, war crimes, harms targeting women and minorities, and influence operations. We work closely with multilateral and national justice accountability bodies.
Role details:
Contract Type: We are pleased to offer a paid internship, compensated at the London Living Wage rate of £13.85 per hour.
Contract length: The initial internship is three months.

About the Role
As a Digital Intern, you will work closely with open-source investigators and researchers to help create compelling, rich stories on our social media channels. You will be empowered to help devise and implement creative content on important issues and conflicts taking place around the world. You'll also help retain and build our audiences on X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and email and you’ll be excited to tell stories in short form video and visuals which you will be comfortable putting together quickly and on brand.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Building content calendars for projects across CIR.
- Designing and posting creative content across CIR channels.
- Reporting on social analytics, tracking trends and helping to devise plans accordingly.
- Researching stories and possible content.
- Tracking the social media calendar/planning sheets.
- Content creation – producing copy, visuals and basic videos for various channels.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- A passion for social media and storytelling.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills, including outstanding written English and good spoken English.
- Exceptional organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- A flexible approach to work, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage a busy workload.
- Enthusiasm to try things out and take the initiative, but an ability to be a team player when required.
- Strong Canva skills.
- An interest in human rights and global affairs.
In the role, you'll learn:

Working Arrangements:
The role will be full-time with the opportunity to work from CIR’s offices in London (subject to the applicant having the right to work in the UK).
CIR encourages flexible working and is happy to agree a working pattern to suit the successful applicant. We generally expect staff to be available between the core hours of 10.00 -12.00 GMT and 14.00-15.30 GMT each working day unless an exception has been agreed.
