DescriptionWe offer a fantastic opportunity to join DPWS's developing Commercial Analytics Team, as a Commercial Analytics Intern. This opportunity will be based at our Port in Southampton and report to our Senior Commercial Analyst. The Analytics team focuses on regular business reporting using a variety of applications (MS Excel, Power BI, SQL, and other tools as needed). The team are exploring additional revenue options and deploying near port logistics services, as well as related opportunities, in order to broaden our core market of shipping line clients. This position will assist the department by performing administrative duties, developing new insight and analytics tools, and modernizing existing reports.
About The Role
How will you contribute:
- Maintain and update SQL Data Tables: Ensuring that the data tables are consistently accurate and up to date is essential for generating reliable insights and reports.
- Circulate internal reports and presentations: Disseminating information to departmental stakeholders helps keep everyone informed and aligned with organizational goals and strategies.
- Provide analytical support across Commercial functions: Assisting various departments, such as Supply Chain and Ports and Terminals, with data analysis supports informed decision-making and optimization of business processes.
- Refresh and create reports using PowerBI: Leveraging tools like PowerBI to create visually appealing and insightful reports enhances the understanding and interpretation of data for stakeholders.
- Respond to client queries: Being the first point of contact for client queries requires prompt and accurate responses to maintain positive client relationships and ensure satisfaction.
- Provide administrative support centred around CRM platform (MS Dynamics): Efficiently managing customer data and supporting the use of CRM platforms facilitates effective customer relationship management.
- Support with development requirements for DP World Supply Chain Projects: Contributing to the development of initiatives, for example decarbonisation initiatives aimed at shifting transportation to create more environmentally sustainable operations.
- Support the department by maintaining administrative tasks, creating new insight and analytics tools, and modernising existing reporting.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- To be in your 2nd year at university and finishing by summer 2025, allowing you to then complete the years internship with us.
- To be studying a relevant discipline, which provides you with the foundational knowledge needed for the role.
- While experience in an office environment, shipping, logistics, or supply chain is beneficial, it's not essential, indicating that DP World values potential and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with people of all levels.
- Ability to problem solve and enjoy tackling challenges, identifying root causes and finding creative solutions.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for ensuring accuracy in your work.
- Exceptional critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyse situations and identify gaps in logic.
