BBC Drama - Film is firmly established at the forefront of British independent film. We back the production of around 15 feature films each year and have an active development slate.
Working in partnership with major international and UK distributors, we aim to make distinctive British films with range and ambition. We are committed to finding, nurturing and developing new talent, as well as collaborating with some of the industry's most revered writers and directors.
We’re proud to have played a key role in a wide range of exciting British films. Recent examples include a number of debuts, from Remi Weekes’ horror HIS HOUSE to Raine Allen-Miller’s romcom RYE LANE; Charlotte Wells’ AFTERSUN to Rapman’s BLUE STORY; Charlotte Regan’s SCRAPPER to Luna Carmoon’s HOARD. We also work with more established talent, recently behind films including ONE LIFE from James Hawes and starring Anthony Hopkins, THE IRON CLAW from Sean Durkin starring Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White and Harris Dickinson, and TRIANGLE OF SADNESS from Ruben Östlund starring Woody Harrelson, Harris Dickinson, Dolly De Leon and Charlbi Dean Kriek.
We develop many of the films we support, and our multi-disciplinary team support films through production, sales and distribution. You will have the opportunity to understand the full life cycle of independent film, and learn from an established, creative and collaborative team.
You need to be passionate about film, and enthusiastic about pursuing a career in the industry, as well as highly organised in your approach, and with strong administrative skills.
