Clinical Apprentice - Hematology Oncology Clinic - Duke Raleigh Campus
Summary
The incumbents assigned to this classification will be participants in an approved apprentice or trainee program established by DUHS. These programs have been developed in partnership with an institution of higher learning or professional organizations. They will work under the license/registry/certification of a qualified trainer for the clinical area to develop competencies for their specialized area of study. Reference the Apprenticeship/Trainee program document for specific requirements and expectations for this program.
Assignment
15 hours per week for a 16 week period
Work Performed
Goals and expectations will be clearly defined at the initiation of the program per program guidelines. Performs all responsibilities in a manner that demonstrates service excellence towards patients, physicians, peers and other departments. Assume responsibility for upholding the policies and procedure of the department and organization. The specific nature of the apprenticeship will reflect the needs of the sponsoring organization, the learning goals of the student and the needs of the healthcare institution. Through interactions with their clinical leader, apprentice's will receive mentorship and support to help their success on the engagement. Program length is typically 12 to 18 months.

Education
High school diploma or GED equivalent plus Pre-requisite coursework (varies based on the apprenticeship program)
Experience
Experience in a hospital or health system preferred. Required experience may vary based on program guidelines.
