Job title: Advanced Apprenticeship Aircraft Maintenance Technician

What you’ll be doing:
The scheme is typically 30 months in duration and consists of 15 months residential training at the Maintenance Academy situated at Humberside Airport, followed by 15 months vocational training undertaken at a BAE Systems or RAF site in the UK.
Due to the residential element of the apprenticeship, successful candidates must be at least 18 years of age when they commence the apprenticeship. We encourage suitably qualified candidates of any age to apply for this apprenticeship; however, please note that if you will not be 18 years of age when the apprenticeship commences then your application will be considered for a future intake of apprentices.
The first phase of training is spent working towards your City & Guilds Level 2 and Level 3 Qualifications which is a mix of theory, practical tasks in avionic and mechanical workshops and also time spent on aircraft simulated tasks. Followed by Platform Placement Training to prepare you for your vocational training.
In your second phase of training you will be placed within the business, either working on maintaining the aircraft or in a support role.
What qualification will you get?
The Apprenticeship enables you to achieve the following qualifications:
Engineering Technician Standard certificate.
Level 2 Diploma in Aerospace and Aviation Engineering (Hand skills).
Level 3 Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance.
Level 3 Diploma in Aviation Maintenance.
Potential CAA CAT A module certificates.
