If you are looking for a high-quality Apprenticeship where you can earn whilst you learn – gaining experience and qualifications in a supportive, award winning and well established organisation, we’d love to hear from you.
We are looking for people with a positive attitude and personality, and who are committed to providing our customers with the best possible service and who are also keen to achieve a professional gas qualification, gaining invaluable hands-on experience along the way.
In return, we will provide you with ongoing support, access to our in-house training programme and high-quality work experience in housing maintenance and repairs. Day to day, you’ll work on a range of different types of properties, undertaking gas repairs, servicing and improvement works to customers’ home and preparing empty properties ready for new tenants.
To succeed, you will demonstrate your ability for safe working, along with great communication skills, professional behaviours, the ability to follow instructions and working as part of a team. You will also need to prove your commitment to work hard, travel across the borough, attend college regularly and meet coursework deadlines.
Starting on September 1st, 2026, for the first 2 years you will be an Apprentice Gas fitter and will have the opportunity to gain experience whilst studying for a Level 3 Gas Engineer Operative apprenticeship standard qualification. Upon qualifying, you will have the opportunity to apply to become a trainee gas fitter in years 3 and 4, studying for further gas related qualifications, and improving your skills, both with a mentor and in year 4, on your own.
You will work under the supervision and direction of dedicated mentors, giving you continual support and equipping you with the skills, knowledge, confidence and behaviours to progress and succeed in your gas career.
Our apprentice gas fitter will join a highly successful gas team – year on year, we have a 100% gas servicing record for our properties. You will carry out a wide range of gas servicing, repair, replacement, installation work to a range of appliances, central heating systems, gas and solid fires, boilers and other appliances. You will also work alongside our private gas servicing team, helping to carry out works to private properties across the borough.
