Overview
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Structured Cabling Engineer to join our dynamic team. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop foundational skills in telecommunications and network infrastructure, with a focus on structured cabling systems. The successful candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers on diverse projects involving network installation and equipment repair.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of structured cabling systems, including Cat6, Cat6a, fibre optic, and voice cabling.
- Support senior engineers in pulling, routing, and terminating cables in commercial and industrial environments.
- Help install containment systems such as trunking, conduit, cable trays, and basket.
- Help to terminate and test copper and fibre cabling using industry standard tools and testers.
- Communicate effectively with team members, site supervisors, and clients when required.
Skill & Qualifications
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Good practical ability and comfortable using hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Good problem solving.
- Basic understanding of IT or networking (advantage but not essential).
- Full UK driving licence.
